How to Reset A BlackBerry To Factory Defaults Settings

Need to do a clean reset of your Blackberry to its factory defaults? If you are not too keen on the idea of reloading the OS you can use the on-board reset capability (they call it “wipe” the handheld device). This option is hidden pretty deep in heart of the Blackberrys multi-layered system so that people wont be able to accidentally use it.
This Blackberry “Wipe-Handheld” command list has been tested on the 8800 however it should be the same or similar for other models

On your blackberry navigate to the following sections:

  1. Options menu
  2. Security Options
  3. General Settings
  4. Menu
  5. Wipe handheld

Here you will need to enter the default password (”Blackberry” or your business-assigned security password)

And your Blackbery will now wipe all user data and reset itself to the factory defaults!
